Grade 9 Educational Trip
September 6 – 9, 2018
Travelling provides great way to let students learn while having fun, break the daily routine of school activities and be away from the normal environment of school. The Jogjakarta trip focuses on its four objectives which are reinforcing classroom activities, encourage students to learn beyond the four walls of the classroom, provide opportunity to learn other culture and allow lifelong memories with friends.
Wonderful Jogjakarta
Day 1, September 6, 2018
We have a flight to catch up at 7:05 AM Batam to Jakarta. Everyone were excited as the airline personnel announces for the boarding. The excitement been intensify as we approached Soekarno Hatta Airport for the next flight going to Jogjakarta. At exactly 11:20 AM, Garuda Airline landed to the land where magnificent temples are located welcoming everyone with their tourist slogan “Jogja The Never Ending Asia”.
First Stop, Buddhist temple of Borobudur. It is the largest Buddhist temple in the world built as a place for glorifying Buddha and a place for finding enlightenment and wisdom.
Day 2, September 7, 2018
The students had a morning walk going to a castle known as the ancient bathing place and palace of the first Sultan, the Taman Sari. The group also visited the Dirgantara Museum, an exhibition hall where historical airplanes from the first to the latest jet fighters are exhibited. The group continued their activity at Sindu Kusuma Edupark, where students had fun ridding amusement rides with their friends. Due to the heavy rain, we had to cancel watching the Cabaret Show and spent the remaining time in Jogja Mall. The good way to end the day is to spend the time with our friends chatting, laughing and swimming at the hotel.
Day 3, September 8, 2018
Day for our nature adventure. After long travel and walk we reached the top of Kebun Buah Mangunan. We were supposed to enjoy picking some fresh fruits, but it was not the harvesting season. The sceneries and views were breath taking. Following to that, we went to the evergreen park where tall trees of Pines are planted. We enjoyed the sweet refreshing air and sceneries in the park. Though the travel took long hours to reach the beautiful beach of Gunung Kidul, it is worth the wait to visit the place. The beach view and big waves hitting the rocky shores was really astounding. The day ended with a birthday celebration for Gloria of grade 9B at the hotel.
Day 4, September 9, 2018
On our last day, we visited Kerajinan Perak Kota Gede, a place where silver are made to beautiful jewelries. The handmade accessories show the great craftsmanship of Javanese people. The trip ended by buying souvenirs and other items for our families. It was 6:00 PM when the plane touched down at Hang Nadim Airport where our families waited for our home coming.
The trip thought us to know the importance of fun while learning and to manage to take care of ourselves while away from our families. The trip surely left us lessons to treasure and to keep.
